    ace war film
A war film like it should be. This is a great movie that has all the elements you could want. A star cast performs well from an excellent script. The aerical combat scenes were flow by REAL World War II vintage aircraft (not models or CGI) flown by real combat pilots. Men from both sides who had fought in the real battle were brought in to act as technical advisers. And my dad was in the RAF during the Battle of Britain and he said that this movie really captured a lot of the atmosphere and feeling of the time. Straight from the horse's mouth!

Xena, your first helping of a modern classic
Well, if you know Xena, you know what you are in for. If you don't you have a treat in store. Ostemsibly a semi-legenary warrior princess of ancient Greece, Xena romps thorugh about 600 years of history, plus a number of myths, encounters with gods and what have you. Great action sequences and pseudo-historical references. The only real problem is that the programmes on the DVD are in a different order to how they were broadcast, giving rise to some continuity problems. You should watch them as: Episode 1, then episodes 10 through 19, then episode 2, then episodes 21 through 24, and finally episodes 3 through 9. Consfusing. Lo!

    Fantasti holiday read
This is a great book. The actual storyline of an unsolved murder was not very different from other detective novels, but the humour of the situations into which the detective got involved was great -but without upsetting the general mystery of the story. First class. a really good holiday read.
