Surprisingly sharp and worth the money
The lens was used on a Nikon D90. The lens is surprisingly sharp, and has accurate color rendering. It is easily as sharp at f2.8 as the Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX G is at f4.0 The limit switch is really helpful when not taking advantage of the macro function of the lens. It's nice that it has an aperture ring, although it's not terribly useful on the consumer and midrange dSLRs. Lens flare could be a problem with this lens, as the hood is quite shallow. The build quality is, frankly, abysmal. However, at the prices they're going for, you can sort of treat them as disposables and not worry to much about them. Of course, if you're not going to subjecting the lens to any abuse and you have the money you should buy a genuine Nikon lens. This lens though, purchased for a quarter of what a comparable lens from Nikon would have cost, is a delightful surprise and substitute.
